This article contains references to currently active Special Interest Groups in the LSU chapter of the ACM organization. A SIG is a smaller group of members of ACM who want to do something more specific with support from ACM.

Mainline

Membership in ACM@LSU is open to anyone in the Baton Rouge area that is a student at an institution of higher learning and is interested in computer related areas. Although a primary focus of ours is providing value to undergraduate and graduate students of LSU's Dept. of Computer Science, we encourage the involvement of anyone interested in computers with out regard to institution or field of study.

SIG-CON

SIG-CON is the special interest group for programming contests. The group meets regularly, usually every week, to practice programming problems in preparation for the International Collegiate Programming Competition.

The group stays in touch, announcing finished problems and importantly, meeting times via its mailing list.

The group also maintains a website.

SIG-Soft

SIG-Soft is a special interest group that seeks to improve the quality of software design among ACM students. Area of special interest include requirements and design, software architecture, validation and debugging, software security, software processes, software management, user interfaces, configuration management, and software engineering tools and environments.

SIG-iPhone

SIG-iPhone will be holding meetings to develop and discuss iPhone development.
