Welcome

Hello and welcome to the fall semester here at ACM@LSU! What is ACM@LSU? We are a local chapter of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) here at Louisiana State University. Here is an except, "ACM@LSU is a student run organization that exists to serve students, faculty, and the community by providing educational, social, and personal development opportunities for all computer enthusiasts." Now what does that mean? It means we exist to SERVE YOU, the students! Get involved here on campus and join ACM!

Business

Now lets get down to business. We have a Facebook group called ACM@LSU which you are welcome to join to stay in touch with fellow members. Membership this year will be $15 for a semester and $20 for the year. You may pay your dues by vising our join page.

Events

Also for meetings, we are always looking for people to talk about the things they are interested in, drop a line if you want to talk at an ACM meeting.

Getting Started

Welcome to ACM@LSU, don't forget to read about us and what we are all about. General Information

Welcome to the ACM@LSU Wiki page. ACM is The Association for Computing Machinery Student Chapter based at Louisiana State University, and we are advocates for Computer Science and the students who study it in LSU's Department of Computer Science. ACM@LSU is a student run organization that exists to serve students, faculty, and the community by providing educational, social, and personal development opportunities for all computer enthusiasts. ACM@LSU seeks to augment the development of future computer scientists and professionals by offering networking opportunities and access to the resources of one of the largest and most recognized student organizations in the world. ACM@LSU strives to be a diverse group of students with computer related interests and to be the computer science group at LSU and in Baton Rouge. Membership is open to both undergraduate and graduate students, and in fact our success is tied directly to the active involvement of both groups of students.

Tutoring Information

Main article: Tutoring

ACM endeavors to be a resource for all LSU Computer Science students. We hold regular "office hours" where students are encouraged to drop by to work in group under the supervision of a tutor. We also have special sessions in the days leading up to an assignment due dates. We are also working with the department faculty to provide solutions to assignments, tests, and quizzes.
