ACM@LSU's 5th general meeting of the year promises to be another great
one. Below is a summary of speakers.

## Ryan Rousseau of Praeses

Ryan is a recent graduate of LSU's CS Department, and is going to be
presenting a talk about reflections in C# as well as information about
opportunities for internships and full time positions at Praeses, a
Louisiana company specializing in innovative information management
and technology solutions. We're very excited to welcome back Ryan and
and to introduce our members to Praeses. Ryan will also be providing
some insight based on his experiences since going out into the "real
world."

## Student Speaker - Zack Dever, CS Undergraduate

Zack is an undergraduate researcher with CCT's Tangible Visualization
Lab, and will be speaking about his work on a project related to work
being done at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory
 (LIGO).

## Invited Speaker - Dr. Steve Brandt

Steve is a consultant with CCT, where he focuses on a wide array of
diverse projects. He will be speaking about some of these as well as
undergraduate research opportunities.  You may find out more about him

## Career Services

We will have a speaker from career services to give an overview of
how they can help you with your resumes and looking for employment
opportunities, including internships.

## Prizes

Robert, who recently hosted a demo of Microsoft's XNA studio last
week, will be giving away a copies of Halo 3 and Gears of War 1.

## Notes

- we will be handing out ACM@LSU membership cards at this meeting, so
 it would be convenient for all registered members to attend
- it is easy and CHEAP to join ACM@LSU - please visit our website to

- we will be making a call soon for all of those who wish to run for
 an ACM@LSU officer position or chairmanship to send in their letters
 of intent, along with a CV or resume; you MUST be a registered
 member of ACM@LSU in order to run. Please be on the look out for
 this announcement.

What is ACM@LSU?

We are the Association for Computing Machinery Student Chapter based at Louisiana State University, and advocates for Computer Science and the students who study it in LSU's Department of Computer Science.

Membership is open to both undergraduate and graduate students, and in fact our success is tied directly to the active involvement of both groups of students.

ACM@LSU's Mission

ACM@LSU is a student run organization that exists to serve students, faculty, and the community by providing educational, social, and personal development opportunities for all computer enthusiasts. ACM@LSU seeks to augment the development of future computer scientists and professionals by offering networking opportunities and access to the resources of one of the largest and most recognized student organizations in the world. ACM@LSU strives to be a diverse group of students with computer related interests and to be the computer science group at LSU and in Baton Rouge.

Who may join?

Membership in ACM@LSU is open to anyone in the Baton Rouge area that is a student at an institution of higher learning and is interested in computer related areas. Although a primary focus of ours is providing value to undergraduate and graduate students of LSU's Dept. of Computer Science, we encourage the involvement of anyone interested in computers with out regard to institution or field of study.
